System Upgrade

We're getting an upgrade on June 27, 2023.

With a fresh new look, optimized (and shorter!) courses, the upgrade to the California Mandated Reporter Training platform hits screens in late June - just in time for summer vacation.

Don't worry, your account and all your previous certificates will still be there. Existing courses will expire on June 26, 2023. Please complete any unfinished courses now to avoid losing progress.

What Do I Need to Know?

Incomplete Courses Expire on June 26, 2023

To make way for the new courses, we'll be expiring all existing courses on June 26, 2023. Please be sure to complete any unfinished courses before this date to avoid losing progress.

As of June 27, 2023, all users will begin taking new course versions (don't worry, they've improved!). If you had an existing course that expired, you'll see a message advising of the course expiration, as well a button for Retake Training. Click Retake Training to add the latest version of the course.

System will be Down for Maintenance on June 27, 2023

On June 27, 2023, the system will be unavailable as we perform our updates. Please be sure to complete any unfinished courses before June 26 to avoid losing progress. The system will resume availability on June 28.

Do I Need to Do Anything to My Account?

No. All existing accounts will remain in tact. Simply keep note of your email and password to resume access after the upgrade.

Can't remember your password? Not to worry! You can use the same Forgot Password workflow to get a link to access your account. Can't remember your email? Simply use the Help icon in the lower right corner and our support team can advise.

Will My Certificates and Training History be Saved?

Yes! All training history will remain in your account. That includes any certificates that were issued for completed trainings.

Simply navigate to the Training page (it's the main page for your account), and scroll down to the Training History section. The grid displays your start date, the status of that training and a link to your certificate (if applicable).

If you have more than one training added, be sure to click the tab (it's the square with the icon and training name) to navigate to the additional course, then scroll down to view the Training History section.

What if I Need Help?

Don't worry, we've got our support team standing by to assist. After June 27, simply click the Help icon in the lower right corner to get assistance with technical support. (We're still here before June 27 too - just submit a support request using the contact form).

We've also built up our knowledge base; simply ask our smart bot a question and if there's an answer already available it will be delivered to you instantly. Still need help? Just click the Get in Touch button in that same window to send us a message (we even allow you to share photos with us!)

What's New in the Upgrade?

New and Improved Courses

Our courseware team has updated all of our courses to make them more efficient and accessible. This also means, in many cases, the courses are shorter than they were before.

Fresh New Look
Our courses have gone through a makeover. Colors, images, layout, lesson structure, even the voice over alongside the onscreen content is new (we hope you like her). This should make the courses easier than ever.

Course Player Upgrade
The delivery of our courses has improved. Use the new toolbar in the bottom to navigate through the course, replay the timeline, adjust the volume, and more. We recommend viewing on desktop browsers, but if you access on mobile, you may want to rotate find the optimum view for your device.

Resource Links
We've removed all the penal codes and legal information from the courses and linked directly on our site. You can still access them while in the course alongside the slide content, but also later outside of the course. This means the courses are shorter for you and easier to update as laws change over time.

Fresh New Website

The website has gone through a makeover. At first glance, you'll see new colors and slightly different branding, but nearly the same user interface - for now. We know change is hard, so we wanted things to work the same with some small improvements to start.

Over time, expect the website to get better and better with new features and functionality and optimized user experience.

Easier Access to Technical Support

Access to our technical support just got easier. Instead of navigating to our contact form, simply use the Help button in the lower right side of your screen.

We've also built up our knowledge base; simply ask our smart bot a question and if there's an answer already available it will be delivered to you instantly. Still need help? Just click the Get in Touch button in that same window to send us a message (we even accept photos/screenshots!)

Associate with Organizations

We know that many learners are employees or volunteers of an organization, such as a school, child care center, hospital, church, police department, or other company.
Frequently, learners self-report their training certifications to their organizations by printing or emailing a copy of their certificate to their employers.

Mandated Reporter Training has now made it easier to associate with organizations, complete assigned trainings, and share certifications. Organization administrators can now invite learners to associate, allowing the organization to assign trainings and track training certifications directly from the Mandated Reporter Training website.

Thanks to our beta with "entities," we have optimized this feature and will be adding more functionality soon. Stay tuned!

Organization Accounts

Thanks to our beta with "entities," we have optimized the ability for organizations to manage groups of learners and their trainings.

On registration, users can now create an Organization account, in addition to their individual account. (Don't worry, if you've already created an individual account you can still create an organization from your profile.)

This account type offers additional functionality that allows administrators to invite learners to associate, assign trainings, manage groups of learners and track training certifications directly from the Mandated Reporter Training website.

Stay tuned as we'll be continuing to add functionality to this feature. (We've heard you - keep sharing your tips and requests with us!)

What people are saying.

Learning to recognize and report suspected child abuse is not what I had in mind when I volunteered as a Girl Scout troop leader, but I’ve learned what an incredible responsibility I have and opportunity to keep kids safe with the information provided in these training modules.
