Mandated Reporter Training courses for Medical Professionals provide a profession-specific overview of mandated reporting of child abuse and neglect in medical and healthcare settings. They provide an overview of the definitions, requirements, and protections associated with being a mandated reporter. These courses are designed for physicians, surgeons, psychiatrists, dentists, chiropractors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Registered nurses can earn CE credits with Mandated Reporter Training. The CA Board of Registered Nursing has approved these online training courses for CE credits.

YOU WILL LEARN

This training consists of six lessons, each of which will conclude with questions to test your knowledge of the material. You will learn profession- specific information, considerations, and scenarios unique to registered nurses, as well as:

  • A medical professional’s role as a mandated reporter
  • Your contribution in abuse prevention
  • Recognizing the signs of physical abuse
  • Recognizing the signs of sexual abuse
  • Differentiating between neglect and other situations
  • Making a report and what follows

Add a Medical Professional or CE-approved registered Nursing course to your dashboard to start your training. Your training includes a general training module and a profession-specific training module. After completion of training, you will take an exam. Pass the exam, and you will receive your certificate of completion.

The entire course, including the exam, will take approximately 4 hours to complete.
